Biography

My research focuses on the legacy of European colonialism as it relates to economic policies of development and globalization, and how it shapes cultural and political practices in Sub-Saharan Africa and among its diaspora.


Teaching Interests

I enjoy teaching on a range of topics including: cultural competency and sensitivity, race, gender and sexuality, international development, tourism, critical heritage studies, conflict and nationalism, representation, popular culture, and migration.

Research Interests

My research interests include: tourism, development, mobility, forced migration, economic anthropology, representation and media, postcolonial theory, and critical heritage studies
